is there a way to put on a front strut tower bar and keep my cruise control? i have a 2002 ecotec. i know that the gm bar has a bracket for it but i just recieved a front and rear set from a fellow jbo member not sure on brand. any help is appreciated.
dose anybody know how to do this i want to put it on!
I don't have an Eco, so this is from memory. But I think you can bend it out of the way.
i was thinking that from looking at it but i wasnt sure, anyone have a pic of it done on there car?
The rear shouldn't matter, so go ahead and put that on.
What's the design of the bar?
I'm assuming its shaped like \_______________/
You can bend your CC bracket downward and install the bar.
Some people have moved the bracket to a different stud on the strut tower.
Others have drilled a hole and bolted to the shaft for the strut mount.
It can be done, you'll get it.

Remember....syringes go in the RED waste basket.
Remove the two 13mm nuts and 1 bolt on the passenger side strut tower.
Remove the 15mm nut that is attached to the top of the upper motor mount.
Lift the cruise control bracket off of the 2 studs on the strut mount and stud on the motor mount.
Leaving the computer bracket on place the strut bar on top of this.Make sure the bar points down if it is this style /----------\. If it is flat dont worry. Remember very few if any strut bars clear the stock air box. If you dont have an intake you will need to notch out a hole in the box for the strut bar to clear.
Replace the cruise control bracket.
Replace all the nuts and bolts you removed but do not tighten all the way.
Remove 2 nuts and bolt from drivers side strut tower.
Place the other side of the strut bar on the strut tower. Adjust the length of the bar using the nuts on it if necessary. Gently push the bar into place being careful not to damage the connector on the computer.
Replace nuts and bolt on drivers side strut tower.
Tighten all nuts and bolts.
You should end up with something like this on the passenger side strut tower:
Hope this helped.

Tommy Boy ( Brutus ) - thanks man that helped alot! thats exactly what i needed
Ironically, with the 2.4's, the bracket to relocate the cruise module in the supercharger kit gets the CC out of the way for most bars
It moves the CC toward the driver side some and down about 2 inches. Side benefit of forced induction in my case

Sleeper style, they don't see it coming that way.
