Who here has SS brake lines?

Who has them? Are they worth it? I just upgraded to brembo rotors/hawk pads and was wondering if I should grab some ss lines while i'm at it. What do you guys have to say about them?

Worth every penny. The brake pedal is exceptionally firm (which also improves consistency).

Me too........ btw, does Russell warrenty their brake lines? I have had mine on for about 5 weeks and a front one broke today, I have no idea why, there was enough slack and everything.

is it the plastic part, or that actual line is leaking?

they should, just contact em direct or check their site russelperformance.com

It broke at the banjo... not sure why. I had to steal the modified rear lines and use that for now.

I tried searching about warranty and their lines and found nothing, so thanks for the email, I`ll do that now.

on that same topic what brand of ss brake lines do you guys recommend , and what kind of fluid are you using ?

i once heard that with the right pad, fluid and line combo on a stock rotor you can brake *almost as well as you would on a bigger rotor..

Russell and Earls are top of the line, excellent quality. I don't think brand of fluid matters all of that much, DOT 3/4 are excellent for daily use with common track time.

i think fluid actually does matter. Motul dot 4 is alot better than your run of the mill candian tire or generic brand fluid.

I only use Valvoline Synthetic DOT 4. I notice a difference when I flush the stock fluid and replace it. YMMV.

If it withstands the boiling point... then there isn't much else it *should* do.

The valvoline synthetic runs about $5 and is almost as good as Motul or ATE. I like it because I flush my brakes fairly often and the fluid is cheap. It also holds up to abuse very well.

Got 'em on all 4 corners, and even running stock calipers and rear drums they work so well. I run Powerslot rotors and Morse ceramic pads up front and stock brakes in rear and the rotors and pads are so much more effective with the stainless lines. It's cheap insurance when your car is a track slut.
