my front right wheel is squeaking when the car is in motion. is this because of a bad wheel bearing? i think so.....
also my rear drum brakes have went out at 56,000 miles. pads/drums/hardware all shot.

Ricer ELIMINATOR!
Bearings don't usually squeak, they usually make ticking, thumping, grinding, (and a few other) noises. Squeaking is almost always brakes. You may need new pads, or if they are high quality pads, you may need "anti-squeak" compound (brake grease, and no it doesn't go on the front of the pads or the rotors).
What do you mean it went out at 56K?? Did a shop tell you this?
I still have a completely stock pads/drums in back at 96K miles and about 40% pad left, they usually last
forever if you don't ride the brakes. YMMV, but completely gone at 56K sounds fishy.
I had a squeak in my front-left. I took it to Sears and they measured and all four brakes were below minimum spec. For the low low price of $580 (
) they replaced all four for me. (They couldn't legally let the car leave after they'd seen the brakes were so bad, otherwise I might have done it myself.)
