so basically your looking for just a bag setup w/ no struts? esb did that w/ his rear set up

It would be real hard to do up front. I brainstormed alot of ideas but came up with nothing that would fit under the stock hood. You could mount a small bag rearward of the axle on the lower arm but then you wouldnt be able to turn.

Cars like Honda civics for example have a small upper a arm and many people have placed a bag on it. BUt with our front end design it would be hard to do anything crazzy without some major changes to the design of our front suspension.

You could remove the strut and fab up some sort of upper a-arm.

why dont you just buy a donut bag??? its an airbag w/ a hole in the center, it will slide right over the stock strut, this is how i am aproaching the front

because then that would defeat the purpose of having no strut

why would u want to remove the struts and shocks anyways??? the ride would be horrible.... @ leats w/ bags that fit over the struts/shocks you still can have usable shocks

the shock a lot of the time restricts the amount the car can be lowered and it also slows down features like hopping.
We brainstormed an idea up a couple months ago for just a bag set up but it was pretty complicated and I didnt feel the need to actually put the plan into action because the cons outweighed the pros

would the ride not be uncontrolable w/ no shocks?

a lot of trucks ride on bags with no shocks. I know several people myself

Yeah but a trucks suspension is way dif. Your getting at least a 2:1 lift ratio on any front truck setup. Same thing out back unless you mount bags on axle. On Js its a 1:1 lift ratio so the ride is going to be stiff to start with. And it really sucks once the struts or gone.

I had the easystreets with blown struts and the ride was freakin horrible.

And those bags that slide over a stock strut suck IMO. Your drop is limited to the strut bottoming out. SO drop isnt much and you will damn sure blow any strut made for a J body. We know how bad most of them are anyway.
