they are crap. why he sells them, i dunno.

He sells them because he probably makes money on them. People modifing cavaliers are typically:
1. Make uninformed decisions about their car's modifications
2. Cheap

He has a product to fill the market's needs. If you were him and you saw that people were buying these things on Ebay, wouldn't you want in on the market (assuming he isn't trying to differentiate himself from other sellers by only selling quality products)?

well i know why he is sellin' them but bein' a respected member of the org, its just hard to believe he would sell somethin' like that

Jason is a great guy to deal with and honest too. Why he sells them is just business, like what was mentioned above he is trying to appeal to all markets, some people are looking for a cheap qucik fix, and others are just poorly imformed about modding their J's. Business is business and Jason has to earn a living like anyone else. Having said that if anyone was to ask for his opinion on what their setup should be he would not advise them towards a cheap set of coils and a quick sale, he's an honest guy and will tell you what he thinks is best. Some people just already have their mind made up before they order and any friendly advice isn't going to change that...its those attitudes of just wanting it done now instead of done right that dictates his stock of products, so that he doesn't lose out. Its just a matter of supply and demand, unfourtunately.

well then why are they bad?

every one says that there bad but so few give reasons. the ebay argument is that they arent made for are cars and they dont come with all the parts.

but if they arent made for are cars and they dont come with all the parts then thats just wrong.

also what is the lowest youd go

dropzone

or the skunk 2

but Im not even sure that they will fit the 95+

you should really read the faqs in this section. it has everything. the reason they are bad is just like you said. it doesnt come w/ all the parts and it comes w/ a ton of washers and rubber rings to try and make up for it. they dont come w/ bearings and the spring rate on them is too high. both sets you just posted are junk. dropzone, just forget about them. i had skunk2 coils and even w/ koni reds they were a little bouncy. if your going to spend the money on skunk2, just save up like 50 more bucks and get ground control. you also need struts. if your thinkin' about coils, to me without a doubt you will need konis. i tell everyone who wants coils to get konis. this way if you want to lower the car more, the strut will handle it. you also cant lower it too far since you'll abuse the strut and koni wont warrenty it anymore. i wouldnt go any lower than 2.25" on koni struts. the best drop for a cav anyway is 1.5"

With coilovers, its not so much the lowering that requires Koni's but the springrate. Even if you had the sleeves all the way up you would still need Koni's or D-specs.

Save your money and buy something like the Tein basics or the RK Sport full coilovers (the one that comes with struts).

Just to reidderate:

Reasons are bad:
1. Too high spring rate
2. Not made for our cars, the original "it fits, mostly".
3. Cheap metal sags quickly

^These are true of any springs less than $100 new, period, end of discussion.

Struts for ANY coilover setup:
1. Koni Yellows
2. Tokico D-Specs

Or you can do a full setup from many places, RK, GC, Gravana, Tien's New setup (Event seems to like it), Mantapart, I'm sure there'e others I can't think of right now.

If you just want coils to put on the above mentioned struts, GC are extremely good, and you can get whatever spring rate you want. If you don't know what you want, ask!!! We'll help you, GC will be glad to help too. Just ask!

Skunk2 coils are not bad, necessarily. They are high quality steel, generally made for our car, but with a very high spring rate. You would need Koni's set to just about full to control them. Under those conditions they would be good for auto-x or tour racing. They would be horrible daily drivers, which is why we generally stay away from them, most of us drive our cars.
