better question how long does it book?
How long does it book?
Eh?
The water pump is on the back side of the engine, under the exhaust manifold, on the passenger side of the block, and is bolted inside the timing chain cover. It is not an easy job at all to change, a shop will charge you like $600.

Buy stuff from CarCustoms Ebay! Won't be disappointed!
how long does it book relates to how many hours labour a shop will charge you to swap it
If you dont have the money, i suggest you take a good full day to do it, just so you have a cushion in case anything goes wrong and needs something from the parts store. A shop or dealership is gonna kill you money wise with the labor and parts if you don't have them already. They are far from fun to do. I think the labor on that is between 6-8hrs. Not 100% sure though. If i remember I'll check when i go to work tomorrow, because i work at a dealership, so you'll get the worse case scenario. Hope this helps.

That's where I spent more time the most, there are about 10 8mm bolts YUCK!
I checked at work....6.3hours, so most likely they're gonna charge u for like 7+ hours. which means bookooo money.

its a PITA to do. you have to almost take the whole freaking engine out.

Supposedly, the price should have come down for the repair. My sister had her GT in for the water pump a couple of months ago, used the same mechanic that I had do mine, and he told me that there is now another manufacturer for the pumps other than GM, supposedly GM was charging and arm and a leg for the pump too. Don't know if its true, the guy owed me so he did it for cost so I can't really compare.
There's one part that's easier on a 2.2 engine. Thank Jesus.
It wont take you a day to do...it will take about 3-4 hours if you do it right.....I can do them in two or less
Goodbye Bobby, May God grant you the peace you never found in life.
