WIll having my cone filter attached like so cause any harm? I just finished installing it and haven't started the car yet, I am looking for opinions. Good vs. Bad, all connections are very tight.
Thanks

That is how mine is connected and I have yet to have any problems. You'll notice the car sounds more "aggressive" almost like an exhaust. I don't really know if there is a significant increase in hp or tq, but it has to at least be better than the restrictive box.
I wouldn't do it.
Dont think any damage will occur
dont think you will gain any hp you will have less restriction but you are going to get all hot air from the engine bay.
I would go with a cold air kit you will see better gains. Make sure it goes under the car for fresh air

That's the misconception about "Warm Air Intakes" and "Cold Air Intakes". You have enough cool air coming into the engine bay when your vehicle is moving. The circulation of cool airflow does happen in the engine bay. Yes, air will be slightly warmer but nothing extreme.
Cold air intakes are only as good as the temperature outside. If it's hot outside, your sucking up hot air, which defeats the whole "Cold Air" aspect.
Gains from "Cold Air Intakes" and "Warm Air Intakes" are about the same. Really, it all depends on the application, what they did or didn't do to that vehicle and what setup they have. There is no dead-set "this intake is better than this one" because they are generally the same and do the same amount in performance.
As far as what 02ECOZ is doing, it will be fine...yes there will be some restriction because you still have the stock parts connected to your throttle body. Really the tube is the easy part to find or even make. Just buy one and stick it on and it will help more.

OK, the air outside is and always will be better to use then the air under the hood.
even when its 90 degrees out?
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
yes, have you every put a thermometer under the hood on a 90 degree day its defently over 90.....
It's within a degree or two at WOT... I know because I've done the "test thermometer" trick. That's why I run an open TB at the track, because it makes so little difference.

It was a joke...you have alot of nerve to actually call me out of my name. You call BS on what Lenko is saying but yet you have no proof and you haven't done any tests just your lousy theory "the air outside is and always will be better to use then the air under the hood".
Fine that's your theory and that's Johns personal fact and study he's done...either accept it or not but grow up. I didn't insult you, I'd expect the same respect back.

sorry did not mean to insult you not trying to start nothing.
Im going of hp gains from personal experience.
The difference is so small it isn't worth the worry. Besides like NJ said when its hot outside your only sucking in hot air anyway. And think about this for just a minute before you post and try to flame me, but doesn't the road where you live get VERY VERY freaking hot in the summer? Well how is the air down there any cooler? It would seem to me that air picked up from the road surface would be hotter then the under the hood temps anyway. So save your money and buy a header and short ram indstead. You'll
be happy your car will be happy and ...... well you get it.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.

It's all good, like said, I'm not here to have enemies or insult people...I was just joking. Glad you understand where I'm coming from.
