I remember a long time ago searching the org for things to do to my cousin's cav. i seem to recall a post about customizing the dome light using masking techniques and painting and such. cant seem to find it in a search. anyone have any thoughts on this. i have my own cavy now and i wanna do some little personal mods to it.
On my old cav I just got a replacement bulb that was tinted a nice blue.
I painted the dome light cover, all I did was mask off the design and paint it

Here is Joes:
I think that looks pretty tight.
I also know someone who used marker and colored the inner cover so it glows red. Personally I think thats crap, it didn't work well for hers!
that one of Joes was exactly what i was lookin for. i dont even remember who posted the thread. but i did a maltese cross on my cousin's too..the only problem i had was that the paint kept leaking under the masking tape and it looked like @!#$ when i peeled it off. did you use a primer first??
i put a chevy bowtie on there and its clear and painted the rest black and have blue light.
^same as mine but my emblem is a lil bigger and is painted non transparent black
noob question
what do you mean by "mask off"
cover the area you dont want painted with either masking tape or a combo of the and newpaper if the area is bigger
