If your name is Mr. Crunch, and you joined the Navy, would you eventually be Captain Crunch?
iuno?
anyways, like said above, there no RWD cavs fro mthe factory. people have put a lot of money into a cav and made it RWD with a big V8 in it. but its not realyl worth it
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
I've seen a couple of RWD Chevy Small Block conversions on Ebay over the years... they usually go for around $20,000...

I know there is a least one yellow chevy powered one somewhere. Sticks out of the hood with a blower. I think they need to make a fact on this subject already.

/\ /\ /\ Actualy I think its just a big stick on hood scoop decoration thingy. Not a real engine.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
If you want one, just build it yourself. its more work but alot cheaper. The hardest part would be the reinforcement of the unibody.
I was thinking of doing it myself for a while...
just get a camaro, take all the parts from it ( engine, trany, ECU...) and you'd most likely need a S-10 rear end ( width is close). so basically it would be the same as building a Hot Rod.
not really a cav but drag cars
There were H body sunbirds with RWD and a 305 from the factory. Though they only had a 4 speed manual because they would shread the 5 speed they had at the time.

Can you prove this?
I'm kinda tired of these RWD V8 in J-Body posts. Please search..it makes me sad when you dont.
But they are not J-Bodies...
Oh God hes talking about the Monza type car!! Way different animal!
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
I did not say it was a j-body. I'm saying if you want something from the factory that is RWD that is a j-body. They only way you can get it is from a car that only shares the same name as a j-body. Hence the Sunbird. It was a H-Body before it became a J-Body.
HA HA HA!!
The only thing a H-body Sunbird has in common with the J-body Sunbird.... is the name. Nothing swaps over. Nothing..
Nothing? Can't swap them badges? Because that would be ti-zight yo..
If you want a V8 Cav, buy a Corvette and badge it as a Cavalier, you'd spend less money then trying to build one.

Oh, and I have a Cavalier.. Boosted 98Z

Maybe you did not read it correctly. Than was the point I was trying to make. Maybe I should use slashdot notation [sarcazim] [/sarcazim] next time to clear things up.
mantapart.com use to (don't know if they still do) make a conversion kit for the j bodies

I have plans for this already looking for a shell right now so i can start it
its not going to be a drag car but a daily driven drift car with a completely stock exterior
oh yeah and not v8 keeping 4 cylinder
