Hi, I just bought a 1998 Cavalier RS. Now, I know for certain it is the RS model because when I CarFaxed it it came up as such. My question is what the difference is between a regular Cavalier and the 1998 RS model?

Cavalier Rally Sport Coupe offers the same standard features as Cavalier Coupe, plus the following:
Cruise control
Dual, covered visor vanity mirrors with map straps
Front mud guards
Tachometer
Variable-speed intermittent wipers
P195/65R-15 tires
Body-color front and rear fascias
Color-keyed body-side moldings
Rear decklid spoiler
15-inch bolt-on full wheel covers
Easy-entry passenger seat
Tilt-Wheel™ Adjustable Steering Column
Remote trunk release
Variable-speed intermittent wipers
Floor mats
Trunk net
Embroidered "Rally Sport" head restraints
"Rally Sport" decal on rear quarter panels
Interesting, as there are a few of those features my car does not have:
*Tach (but it's an auto...)
*Spoiler
*Embroidered head rests
*Decals
It has everything else you listed. Thanks!
i dont think its a true RS then.
What year was that RS list for? Because it changed from year to year....
yea my 97 didnt have tach, cruise, tilt, wing, no headreset writing, no rs sitckers on it.. but i did have the "upgraded suspension" i had the rear sway bar and the front sway bar... base model cavaliers with the exception of 2003 and up didnt have sway bars stock.....
Sorry to sound foolish but how can I check whether I have those sway bars? Just peer underneath?
Wow thats some list. Not to say its wrong but I thought the RS was a trim option.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
i wonder if it was different for 99 because my base coupe has some of those features...

There never was a rear swaybar. There is a rear stabilizer bar on FE2 cars, and perhaps early FE1 cars (95/96?).
Front sway bar - just peek underneath, or check for FE1 on your RPO sticker.

Alot of standard equipment on the "upper" models was optional on the base.
