The oil cap, where the filter sits under is to the right side of the tb, under the intake hose. My book says 4 qts for mine and thats what I put in it but others says 5 or even 5.5.

I put in one of those 5qu jugs and it works for me. And the oil fill is right on top of the valve cover lol

the filter....get a new one and you dont have to replace the cap everytime.

i used a litlle over 4 quarts... and the oil filter... wow i had the car lifted all the way and looked for about 10 minutes then i got my friend who changed her oil before to show it to me... gm is pretty tricky... i thought since it was a j-body it would be in the same area as my sunbird... or at least on the bottom... damn ecotec...

5 quarts, 32mm socket, or Snap On part A106(oil filter tool), or a pair of vice grips *cringe* for getting the oil filter cap off.

I use a 32mm socket, 1/2 inch driver and an extender for easy removal.

You'll have to take out the S-pipe between the box over the TB, and the air filter box to get to it.

5 quarts Mobil 1synthetic 5w30 and a new filter every 5000 miles for me.

You don't have to take out that pipe to change the oil, it's more work.

U shouldnt have to remove anything. Just some manuevering tof he filter and filter cap out and like said before, they have a special socket for those filter caps (got one through MAC tools) not real expensive, or use the 32mm socket like said before. Drain plug in normal spot, 5 and a little more for oil. Good to go. Just make sure that the filter and filter cap sit right before screwing back in. Small greenish looking o-ring will break if not done right. Oh also when taking filter and cap out dont come all the way up, get it so its able to be turned by hand or you'll get the socket stuck on a hose or whatevers there above it and have to back it back down to get it off.

the 2.2 has the filter up on top where the guys have said, S tube does not have to come out. Oil Capacity is 5.1 Qt's and the Filter # is a Fram PH9018 if it helps. I work at jiffy lube, and we've changed oil in ECOTEC's 100's of times atleast 3-4 a week, and we've got a speed handle with a socket on it, the size i believe is 32mm. Quick and easy, far easier than the LN2! the 2.4 isnt hard at all, in fact, its easier on the J than the N body!

Yeah the 2200's do suck with the oil filter. Then tryin to keep the oil off the exhaust...not hard to do it just sucks.

i went to auto zone and got:
1-1/4" socket--1/2" drive
1/2 to 3/8 drive adaptor
long 3/8 extension

i could have bought all that stuff from autozone 5x for anything you bought from snap-on!!

and i do 5 qts-which overfills it EVR so slightly. overfilled a little is good imo....oil stays cooler and cleaner a little longer. were not talking ALOT here, but every little bit helps right?

i work at jiffy lube, any eco tech, 2.2 or 2.4, use a canster filter( our number is a ph5436, and use5 quarts of 5w30 oil, dont run anyother oil or you well get a rod knock from you know were. be careful when you are taking off the canaster cap though, they like to strip and get to the piont were you cant get them off.
