It wasn't that hard, took me less than ten minutes with a flat blade screwdriver. Getting the rubber hose off the air expansion box is the hardest part. I drove around the block after taking the tube out and didn't notice any difference - it sounds exactly the same. I thought it was supposed to make the engine growl more?
Also, when I drove it around the block there was a real "thud" as I put the car in reverse (it's an auto)... do you think that's just coincidence or did I break something?
I have the three-speed, and I didn't unplug the IAT sensor. Hopefully it was just a weird thing and it'll be fine tomorrow.
Haha yeah I know it's a pretty pathetic ten minutes... good news is my trans stopped going "thud" and I can hear a slight whistling at about 30mph (which I'm guessing is about 4-5k)... so just for that, I guess it was worth the five minutes

5-6K? Mine was loud at like 3500... and its AEM aswell....
my engine sounds loud and noisy from inside the car period with my short ram intake on. can't even talk on the cell phone without people wondering what the hell i'm saying.

i took mine out and the car felt sluggish on the bottom end
so i put it back . couldnt tell any sound difference....but maybe im deaf from being around loud ass speakers i dunno
