I was just wondering if anyone ever sleeps in their j-body overnight and how comfortable is it? Where would be more comfortable to sleep, recline in the front seat, or fold down the rear seats and sleep on top of them?
ive slept in the car before during long trips across the US.
The best way i find is lower the rear seat, but a blanket down and use your peat head rest as a pillow and put another blantet over you so you are warm and have some leg space in the trunk.
yep got one of my best sleeps ever on trip in the back of my cav, lol jst fold down the rear seat!
Whats a Cavalier?
Thanks for the advice, I'm gonna go in my car right now and test out which way is most comfortable.
i've slept in my z24 a couple times. rite infront of my house. that explains how comfy its.
Working on obtainting an M-Class license... ?? Hint: 2 wheels.
I used to recline my front seat and use the seatbelt as a headrest between classes. Comfy.
Or, fold down the right back seat, put your entire body in the trunk, but leave your head sticking out. Also comfy.

I love being premium!
I have slept in the back seat with my x girlfriend several times. Its not very comfortable, someone usually ends up getting pushed down in front of the seats and if you try to uncurl you jam your head into the side of the car. Its also very cold so make sure you have a blanket. You would be better off folding the back seats down and spreading out that way.

I just slept in the back seat, just layed sideways in the back seat and thats it. Curled up into a ball to keep as much body heat in as i could. It was about 10 degrees out and i woke up freezing so i just started my car and let it run for about 3 hrs. Hardly used any gas and didnt get hot since the car wasnt under load. but it was warm enoughg.
i slept in the rear seat about 3 times, laying on my side (i am only 5'3 so it's not to cramped) and i find it to be an ok sleep
I'm 5'11''. I've slept in my backseat quite a few times, but I never laid the seat down and slept half in the trunk. Just curled up in the back, it was alright. I've also slept in the passenger seat with it reclined...not too bad.
lol, yeah i used to sleep in mine on my breaks at work all the time, but trust me, the 1/2 in the trunk bit with the seat down is the shiznit!
p.s this post IS off the wall!
Whats a Cavalier?

Nap at lunch time almost daily!
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
Was drunk once, and rather than driving home, I slept in the car. Pulled the rear seat down, and reclined the front seats. (I have a emergency blanket in my trunk, so I curled up with that.) I don't remeber if it was comfortable or not... I guess it must have been.
Vehicles I've slept in:
92 Dodge Daytona = bad sleep
93 Ford mustang = bad sleep
91 Suzuki Swift = bad sleep
87 Dodge Ram = Good sleep
96 Chevy Astro = Good sleep
00 Ford F150 = Good sleep
Unknown because of intoxication
79 Ford Thunderbird (probably good)
83 AMC Concord
84 Chevy Chevette
83 Mazda RX7
Used to camp alot with friends... and drink too.
You'd be supprised at how nice a Chevette looks when it's raining, your tent is leaking, and you are intoxicated.
Haven't done that is quite afew years now.
i slept in my old 4 door. I went to a party and somehow got stuck, i just remember waking up and having a hangover while trying to jack my car up and stick some small branches under the tires to get some traction to get unstuck. Dumb sand. BTW, it was pretty comfy.

I sleep in my car alot. I pop in a movie on the 7" and lay in the reclined driver's seat until I fall asleep.

The Daytona was bad sleep? I had a friend who slept in the rear of mine once. They must've changed it for '93. And I've slept in my car on the side of the road before. Just reclined the driver's seat and had a blanket. My sister's car (2002 Cav. Sedan) is a different story. I slept in her back seat but had a box that took up 1/2 the seat so I layed on my back, neck curled, legs in the air againsts the door, in that position for 2 hours when she was driving.

I spent the night in my school's parking lot a few times because I didn't want to drive all the way home just to drive all the way back again, I don't really remember why I was at school so late though......
I just reclined the driver's seat, got a blanket, and knocked out. Not very comfortable, but probably because it started getting cold, so at about 4 in the morning, i turned the car on and put the heater on, and slept until 7:45 when it was time to walk to class.
Good times.
Passed out in ..yes
Slept in...yes
Nookie in ...yes
Always in the front seat, kick it back and get to sleep, make sure the car is armed so nobody and mess with me of course.
Still waiting to sleep in my truck, mmmm bench seat.
I've crashed in mine a few times... mclonedogmcwad and a few buddies left me passed out in it once... IN MY PARENTS' DRIVEWAY (One of them drove it, not me. I was already out by last call.). That didn't go over well once I woke up, but it was nice and comfy at the time. I've found that the most comfortable for me (being 5'9 and scary skinny) is to slide the passenger seat all the way back, then recline it just short of all the way. Then I just kick back and crash. When I was still living with the ex from hell, I also spent quite a few nights in it. Same with the 92 TA. Oddly enough, I found the cavy more comfortable. But number one in my book was my 84 Caprice coupe. I could lay down across either bench easily. The cushy armrests on the doors made GREAT pillows.
All in all, any of them are much better than the time mclonedog left me in the yard.
Every year, when I drove to the bash. Every time, the same way.... driver's seat all the way back and reclined all the way.... feet on the passenger side of the dash. Then I'm all numb when I wake up
