I just bought a 3rd gen power mirror switch off ebay, and want to use it with aftermarket mirrors on a second gen Sunbird. Does anyone have access to what the wires are on the 3rd gen switch? There are two harnesses coming out of it one has 5 wires (Orange, Red w/White stripe, Black, Blue and Brown w/White stripe) and the other has 3 (White Yellow and Green) . I'm assuming the 5 wire plug has the power and ground supply. I'm also guessing the mirrors are using a common ground for both the up/down and left/right motors. any help would be appreciated.
"I can't believe I'm customizing a Sunbird!"
Orange is power. Black is ground. The rest I'll have to look up for you.
The one with three wires goes to the driver's side mirror, the other three wires off the 5-wire plug go to the passenger side mirror.
(I'm going off memory here... but I've rewired enough third gens I almost know it all )
I'm doing tha same....so I'm interested too.
Driver Mirror Connector: Lt Green is common between the 2 mirror motors. yellow is up/down motor, and white is left/right motor
Passenger mirror connector: Lt blue/white is mirror common, brn/white is up/down motor and red/white is left/right motor.
Orange is connected to convience center on a 97 cavalier
Black is ground.
I made my own harness to go from passenger mirror to switch. Works fine. Anything else, ask for a pdf diagram and I will try and provide.
Well if it's not too much of a hassle, It would be great to have a pdf diagram
When I get back from VA tommrow, I will scan in the diagram from the book

Can you please repost/reupload the PDF? It seems to be offline.
Others:
When doing this conversion, do you cut off the connectors on the switch, or where do you get factory matching connectors?
And- where does the orange wire connect on the 'convenience center' ?
Thanks all!
