want to swap Sunfire for Cav steering wheel.

I can get a 1996 sunfire steering wheel for a good price, but need to know if the airbags will still work if I swap it into my 2002 Z24. If someone could let me know, I'd be really appreciative.

1995 to 2002 = all same fit patterns, but the elctronics on it might be a no go, Seeing as the whole electrical system was revamped in 2000.

What exactly is a good price? Wrecking yards around here will part with stock steering wheels for $25 or so. They're pretty abundant

If you have a 2002 Z24... you'll have to swap in a 2001 or 2002 Sunfire bag. Other years have different plugs, and won't work. Unless you swap the coil as well... and hope it works.

His price was $10.00 plus shipping. Are you saying they have 2001-2002 Sunfire wheels with the airbags for $25.00. If so, and I sent you the money, could you pick one up and send it to me? Their aren't too many wrecking yards around me, and the ones I've checked are lacking J-Body parts. Let me know, thanks.

Ok, $10 IS a pretty damn good deal

With an airbag... that's around $100 or so. Assuming they'd part with one (they usually sell the airbags as a complete set around here)

It is going to look tacky you owning a Chevy and the airbag showing a Pontiac arrowhead.

I agree, but will it look any tackier than the factory chevy wheel? Has anyone had any experience with insurance companies refusing to pay for damages if a non airbag wheel is installed where an airbag should be? I see them on here all the time, and they can't all be on showcars. I've got progressive insurance, and I'm not sure about their take on this mod. I'm looking for advice from you guys on this.

as far as insurance, the only thing i could see them having an issue with is your medical bills, as far as damage to the car if you wrecked, what difference does it make.

so most likely they just won't pay your med bills, but don't quote me on that, im not a lawyer
