I have an 04 ecotech, and I'm getting ready to replace the front pads and rotors, I know the caliper has 2 hex head bolts, I wanted to know if anyone knew the size tool I need to remove the caliper, and the mount to replace the rotors, any info would be a great help and time saver, Thanks.
I think it is a 3/8 or 1/2 size hex head. Thats all you need to take it off. The rotors will slide right off once the caliper is off.

ill bring up the question ive seen debated before.. is it normal for the bolts to stick out a little bit after putting new pads? i can never get them to go flush when i put new pads on.

On my '03 cav with the Eco they were metric bolts, 10mm and 13mm i think. Really easy to do. You'll need a "c" clamp or something to push the piston back into the caliper. Leave the pad on that side and it's easier to get straight to push it back in. Then change the pads.

instead of turning the rotors just buy new ones. the rotors are dirt cheap. also lubricate the slides. haynes has a pretty good manual for our cars...
I second the buy new rotors. When i did my front brakes, i bought new ones at Advance. A whopping $14.99 each. If you get new rotors, break them in right or you'll get a vibration from warped rotors. (best way is to get on a road that you can get on the brakes a little but not stop. Get on them some, don't stop and let them cool for a few minutes. Repeat for 5 times at least). I read an article on this by Baer Racing, i didn't know until about a year ago there was a right way to break in new rotors. I had several warp in the past, but since i've used this way it's all good.
