What size/part number is the serpentine belt for a 96 Cavalier, 2.2L, no a/c, powersteering?

Im not sure you can do that. How are you going to run the water pump. I think I remember someone trying that and the wp didnt have enough surface to grab the belt and the engine would overheat. I dont think I have seen a cav with no ac or ps from factory. Why do you want a shorter belt any way? If you think it will work get yourself a piece of string, 6-8 ft long wrap it around the pulleys the way you want the belt to go. Pull the tensioner half way, mark the string length where they meet. Measure the string and the local parts store should be able to get you the one that length. Just remember that I told you about the overheating thing.

No, I think you misunderstood my question. I just wanted to know the length of the belt, it's 71.5 cm... I got one, but it does have powersteering, but no A/C.

Im confused. You have the belt that you need? What exactly are you doing? If you wanted the belt with no a/c couldnt you just go to your local parts store and get one? Im sure that they can look it up and get you the correct one.

Yea, I have the belt, our family used to own a service station so we have a lot of serpentine belts left over, and if my dad had one then I could have saved myself 25 bucks.
