k before i go and get my car looked at i was wondering if anyone had any experience with noisy steering...so i dont get charged a buhjillion dollars just for a diagnosis..
heres the situation...when i turn the wheel to like back out of a parking spot or if im driving forward and just turn say about 3/4 of the way around it starts clunking...sorta sounds like winding up a metal spring far enough to where its about to break because its gets higher pitched the more i turn the wheel...like *tunk...tunk...tenk..tink tink tink* haha..but yea that...andddd if im backing up just straight it starts makin the same tunk noise after i roll back about 5 or 6 feet...i added a bit of power steering fluid a while back because it was a little under full and that made it stop...now it just keeps doing it even tho the reservoir is full...except its louder...i had my axles checked a couple times and i was told they were alright...i dunno?...also while im driving about 20 mph my right rear wheel starts squeaking...but when i tap the brakes it goes away...ahh im just kinda like...wtf haha...im not as auto savvy as id like to be...so i talked to a couple people and they all been telling me the same thing "check the cv joints" but they dont own cavis...so yea...sorry the post was so long but...anyone who sat and read the whole thing and can help would be greatly appreciated
thank you

your best bet would be to have your cv joints checked out and yes often times if the boot is torn or even a little bit of dirt and grit gets in there it can cause premature wear. as for the noise when your at about 20+ miles, try having your tires checked and balanced, if that doesnt do it and you still have noise check your brakes as i know when my car did that i just had to readjust my brakes.... did you have your front brakes recently changed? if so that can aslo be the cause. and if u didnt check into that as well.
sorry if im rambling but id check into every possible problem at once because for two weeks i had to bring my car to the shop almost every other day because of problem after problem, so now i just look at every possible scenario and tackle it at hand so i dont have too much down time from driving my car
o dont worry about rambling its all very insightful...i appreciate it...and yea it only seems right to look into every single problem anyways dont want to miss anything u know...but yea anyways...i didnt have my brakes checked yet so thatll definitely be next on the list...and tires balanced i havent even thought of that...i had my car lowered a couple of months ago and i didnt have a camber correction done when i changed out my tires...could that have something to do with it? im also thinking its cus i bought a coilover strut package off of ebay...struts are going bad already cus of the all the intense bumps around where i live >.< thanks again

i see that you have the dropzone setup....not worth it imo, but you get what you pay for.
now as for you lowering your car, yes camber correction can also effect how your car rides and drives. i have never lowered my car without getting my camber adjusted so i dont know as to how serious the noise would be. but for future refference always make sure u have that corrected because it can also lead to premature tire wear...very bad expecially if u leave it that way. i had a tire literally peel and come apart on me, it started on the inside so i didnt notice until it was too late and that all happened at stock height, i cant even imagine how it would be with a lowered car.
i think im forgetting something but i dunno im running off no sleap since 6A.M saturday so if u have any more questions feel free to ask
yea i know what u mean i just got my rk front lip in the other day so i took my wheel off to to mount the lip and screw in the side flanges in the wheel well and when i pulled off the tire the inside of tire was so bald...not too much longer and i'll start seeing the steel threading...i was like o.O holy crap! haha...ive been lookin into new suspension for some time but now that i saw the tire wear its gunna set me back some...sigh....well thanks for the input man i appreciate it
