is there any diff between them ? can i just swap the 99 in to my 96 and not have to change anyhting else????

no, you'll have to changed the hole for the knock sensor (search on this one), use your 96's Fuel injectors, EGR Valve and Intake Manifold, as well as computer.

This is what you need to do......they are the exact same motor....minor differences...biggest one is the knock sensor, it needs to be drilled and tapped for the 96 knock sensor in the same 99 location. Now, on the 99, it doesnt have a oil level sensor, so you will want to reuse your 96 oil pan. Use your fuel rail/injectors/intake manifold/exhaust manifold/all egr stuff. Reason I say exhaust manifold as well, is because the 99 obviously doesnt have a egr passage, so you will need to reuse ALL of your 96 stuff.

ok well that sounds easy enough, i have a 2.3 h.o intake for it anyways and a header, so that clears up most of it, but why the injectors? they bigger or do they have a diff plug in?
