No @!#$ they wont deploy.

If the airbag light is on the system goes into fault. It basically shuts off the airbag system.

You have a fault in your air bag system, wether it be a crash sensor, safing sensor, damaged wiring, something isnt right.

If you were to get into an accident today your air bags will not deploy no matter what.

You need to take it to a garage that has a scanner that is capable of accessing the air bag system, any of the snap on scanners should work. You can also take it to a dealer. thats the only way your going to find out why the light is on or find out what needs fixed.

Make sure your bags are plugged in. look for yellow plugs under the dash on the driver and pass side. also check to see if the crash sensor on the radiator support is plugged in. The air bag module is under the pass seat(under the carpet), unless you got a 95 then its under the ash tray in that box lookin thing, in front of the console.

does your horn still work?

That shouldn't make a difference, if you are reffering to the clock mechanisim. The horn contact is through a hole in the airbag clock mecanisim.

Has the front subframe been removed lately? If so was the steering wheel turned, while the subframe(steering rack) was disconnected, the clock mechanisim may have been moved out of alighnment or broken.

I think it depends on the fault. I've seen where people with an aftermarket steering wheel (activating the air bag light cuz of... no air bag) have crashed, and the pass. side airbag would still deploy.
