well this is the story i was coming home from work at about eleven and the only road to my house had water running over it cuz it was raining real bad i went through and all of a sudden my car started to bog i knew automatically that it had sucked water through tthe cold air intake and drove the rest of the way home slowly. it idles a little weird and when i step on it it bogs then takes off and does it again, is my engine screwed or wat? if not wat can i do to help it? my friends mazda 6 sucked water throught the intake and he just changed the plugs and oil and it ran like new again. wat can i do? damn my turbo setup was barely being completed and now this @!#$ @!#$!!!!!!!!!!!!
Relax, this happened to my friend's Eclipse.
I took off his intake, let the filter dry, sprayed some starter stuff into his throttle body, replaced the intake with a cheap Autozone filter, it fired up after a couple tries. You're not screwed.

I WAS ALREADY GONNA START CRYING WHEN I GOT HOME LOL I JUST THOUGHT SO CLOSE TO BOOSTING IT AND THEN THIS CRAP HAPPENS!!!! honestly thank you man on the way home my bumper broke from the side were you mount it to the fender, on top of that i got out of work two hours early so i could go to some clubs with my friends and they left without me and the worst thing is my girl went with them!!!!!!!! that trick is in trouble now lol!!!!!!! ill do that tomorow when i get outta work guess ima have to bust out the orange cavi haha havent driven it in a while the ol reliable ohv haha, thanks bro gotta go!!!

yea it should be fine, just take of the filter like said and air it out. thats the only bad part about having an cai that goes all the way down like that. thats how my friend locked his engine in his integra
how much water has to get in there for it to actually lock up? and when it does how does it react like automatically locking up and thats it? or does it run for a bit then lock up? anything to do that you can prevent it from taking in water?
Hmm......sounds like you got water around the plugs and you had a voltage leak, typically water is instant death. Yes, i can see picking up a little water and passing it but not likely. I really think your problem was plugs. They dried and all is good again.
Water will not compress, when the engine sucks in water while its moving it will either pass it through or it will lock it up and bend/break internals. You should be fine. they are correct about changes are you just got water on some electrical stuff and had some shorts. Lots of cars that have minor ignition problems turn into major misfires and bogging down when wet (when it rains ect..)
^^^^Exactly.....you just got a voltage leak on your plugs or ignition module.....not water in your motor.
