have a 98 sunfire with 2.2l and 3spd. auto. would like to swap from a 2001 a 2.2l and 4 spd. auto. what do i need to do to make the tranny work? pcm/wireing harnes?
The easiest would be to find the harness from a 98 or 99 with the 2200 engine and a 4 speed auto trans. Or, you could modify the harness from the 01 to match the 98 schematics.
Either way, you'll want to find the PCM from a 98 2.2L and 4 speed auto, or reflash your PCM to the 4-speed program.
