I have a 95 cavalier z24 2.3L and when its started sometimes when you hitt the gas it almost sounds like it has a miss fire or a chugging. then it stops and runs normal...And it happened once at a stop light after an hours drive... Could it be the coil packs, because i have replaced the plugs.

If you have never changed the plastic coil housing, now would be a good time to do that. You dont need to change the boots.
The coil housing causes most of the drivability issues with that motor.
Dont buy the cheapest ony that you can get, unless you want to buy 2 and keep one in the trunk.

I dont know the gm #, You can get it at any auto parts store. It is the plastic housing that holds the coils and ignition module. Has short boots on it for the spark plugs to slip in to. This housing takes place of the spark plug wires. In Many cases it looks to be i good shape but has internal shorting across the molded wire feeds causing backfires, firing on the wrong cylinder at the wrong time,( I call it cross firing), and missing under a load or no start .
