my 95 2.3 sunfire gt is breaking up when the excelerator is pushed down. When climbing a hill, the more you push down the pedal the power drops down! Then when you let off the gas pedal, you feel the power coming back. When it idles it's fine. Next when I stomp on it in park, the rpm's climb then starts breaking up. then clears up on the high end. What do you think?
i think you need to go to gm to have your codes read...have you changed an o2 sensor anytime lately? changed anything at all?
could it be a bad egr valve?
your 2.3 doesnt have an egr valve....so no
I would change the plugs and boots as a first. Cheaper and ALWAYS needed. Been there done that with the 2.3.

the boots might not be seated correctly and arcing, had that happen before with the same symptoms as you describe. It also happened when I had the cat fall apart on me and plug up.
it was a plugged cat thanx guys!
Me FTW!!! LOL at least it's something that is expensive and has to be taken in to repair, usually. Mine got a nice replacement in the form of a glasspack.
I was too late, The cat was my guess too. Nice to see you figured it out.
