so the deal is, ive found a 2.4 from a 99 cav, so im taking it out, rebuilding it with performance and aftermarket parts from a company i have found, does any body have any input on this at all, and if there is a place in B.C. where i can get the parts from, instead of the states,
if your goin to put the 2.4 from the 99 into your 01 with the 2.2, you have alot of swapping to do. i hope you got more than just the engine
what else am i goign to need then
everything. wire harness's, computer, everything. gm changed everything from 99 to 00. its not a simple plug and play swap

The 99 2.4L is the later version... same as the 00-02 ones, but uses a single wire primary O2 sensor... instead of the two wire the 00+ uses. You can swap it easily, but you'll have to go find a two-wire O2 sensor to wire it up right... and you'll need the 2.4L wiring harness from a 00-02 car.
As for the trans... yeah, you'll need whatever your car had, but for a 2.4L instead. If you have an automatic, then any 96-02 2.4L 4-speed auto trans should work fine. The manual is different... if you have a 5 speed (Getrag trans) in your 01, you need to find a 2.4L 00-02 Getrag trans to bolt up to it. Then it will just bolt in.... otherwise, you need to start messing around with trans mounts and welding them in...

soo my best bet is find something over 2000 so that the wiring harness with be the same and well as trans, what about the sunfire GT, i just want to go from a LN2 to a rebuilt LD9,
and im from squamish/vancouver area

my suggestion is what you said. find something out of an 00 and up so all the wiring will be the same.
