this manual is a must read for any drop top owners. it gives you step by step instructions on pretty much any convertible specific maintenance or repair job, from replacing the top to installing a new top motor to replacing the trunk gas strut hinges.

ive got some more convertible info on its way. cant wait to get it and put it up here. it includes a 25-minute video and manual on convertible top leak repair. should be some damned good info!

I've got that on VHS. But if you've got it converted to a downloadable file where I can put it on my laptop and actually have at the car while working that would be AWESOME...

I'll try to get all the windshield/window/top seal numbers when I go home for lunch today.

Sweet didn't see that one. Thank you soo much. Now if I can just get the other stuff fixed. Compressor, window, bumper, steer shaft, gas guage going nuts, temp guage same thing. LOL I got lots of work ahead of me this summer.

Well. LOL

The steering coloum needs to be regreased.
Power steering leak
Car running lean
Brakes replaced (Nothing special there)
leaks in roof.
A/C compressor bearing causing some issues.

I'm sure there is some other minor things I forgot.

I think that bout it. Asides from some body damage.

Shes getting old and there was a time of neglect. Im paying for it now I'll tell you that much.

bah....get rid of the a/c. youve got a convertible!

check the maintenance forum for a downloadable HAYNES manual for the other things you need to do.

Yeah I totally agree.

I was looking at any info on maybe bypassing the ac with a smaller belt.

And yeah got the book already. This is my second one lost my old one. This one has 2.4 stuff in it which is nice.

you can bypass the a/c just just a smaller belt if you want
or you could buy the a/c delete pulley and keep the stock belt

i put a lightened underdrive crank pulley on my last vert and just deleted the a/c. the belt went from the crank to the alternator and that was it lol. if you go this route search the performance forum for my post....its there somewhere. it was a bitch to figure out exactly what belt to use for my situation.

i wish i knew more about the 2nd gens, but i dont. you could always try to find a book like this on ebay

here is one, but its listed as a "parts and illustration" book. not sure if that includes into or troubleshooting or not.

here is another one, but i think its just for the top and not the rest of the car

this is a convertible owner's manual. no guarantees what it has in it though.

supplement manual for the birds

shop manual for them. this most likely has info you could use
