Well, I got the 99 Z24 brought home today, it was in a front end crash, but the engine and everything is fine, just the hood, fender and headlight was beat up. When it got off the truck, I turned the key and it fired right up, drove it to the end of the drive way (about 70 feet) shut it off, and moved my sunfire out of the garage, went to start the z24, and it doesn't crank over! I can hear the fuel pump, the battery is only a few months. When I started it the first time, there was no problems, no funny noises, no hesitation, but about 3 minutes after, it wouldnt even crank over. There is no click or anything from the starter. Is this the starter, or passlock, or something else? Thanks!

sounds like a loose or corroded battery terminal.

starter,loose or broken connection,or relay.
I looked started disconnecting everything from the engine, and had the battery off for a few hours. Put it back on, and trued to start, and the whole car died, no power anywhere, I know thats the battery connection, so I tightened the battery bolts, and it fired right up! Before, the car wouldn't do anything, it was like i wasn't pressing the clutch in. Oh well, the engine will be coming out tomorrow to go in the sunfire.
Good luck with everything from here on.......

We almost got that engine out saturday night, not sure if steve has worked on it since then.
Nah, not really, its been so cold lately I havn't even bothered. There's not much stopping me, I just need to get everything I need to haul it out, only about an hours work at the most! Bought the md crank pully today, and I am currently working on getting a 2.3 tb, and possibly some secret cams.
