What are the common areas for a 2.2 on 2004 to leak?

I assume you mean the ecotec.. I cant say I have seen one with a leak yet and I see 10 a week.

Drain plug....from lack of or excesive tightening. Oil filter housing, for same reasons, or never replacing o-ring with filter change.

All these can be avioded by not taking your car to Walmart for an oil change

Other than that, there arent any common leakage places I have seen.

What brand filters come with a new o-ring?

not many.....I forget the brand we used to order in that had them until purolator came out with the cheap filters that do not. Once we got the purolator cheapies, we just used them. I will see if I can find out the brand they were.

hastings filters comes with new o rings

we use the Fram filters, they come with the o-ring.

rear main seal are commen to leak as well as the frt crank shaft seal but thats only in very cold weather also i have ran into oil pans leaking on the back side of the block.

the wix filters also come with new o-rings... thats what we use
