Never done it before..95 Sunfire Coupe, but I'm sure all the 3rd gen j's are the same.
Basicly, I'd like this to go as smoothly as possible...Can someone tell me where all the bolts are, and maybe even what size wrench/socket, I need?
Or any, any at all extra info to make my life easier while doing this, would be greatly appriciated..
Thanks!!

its pretty simpe. i believe they are 10mm bolts. you have the bolt alone the rail under the hood. i believe 1 behind headlight and 2 under the car right before the front wheel well where the fender and door meet. then just some misc screws in the wheel well. not very hard and takes about 10 mins to take off.
Yea, rail under the hood, some you also have to take the hood hinge off, because a couple of those bolts go through to the fender. There's 2 on the bottom that usually strip--if you have too just use a nut and bolt for reassembley. If you open you door, and look at the fender, there's a couple bolts there as well.
It's pretty easy tho, lining the new one up can be a bit of a PITA, but other than that, not bad.
There will always be someone faster than you, but thousands slower and dumber than you.
there is 3 up there by the headlight
if its like the 2000's you will have one about the middle of the fender which is a pain in the butt. i couldnt find a way to put it back together when i re-installed it, hasnt made to much of a difference.
its a pain in the butt if u've never done it before just take ur time and follow a service manual...don't break the bracket near the front of the fender!!
here's another of them pic/info things...in case you don't have it off already....
first i think you want to go and get some of them little black plastic push fasteners (no idea what they are called) from a hardware store or auto store, just because when you take these out it's easier to get them out partway and then cut them. seems to save paint chips and bent up tabs on the fender. so yeah, take off the fasteners and screws in the wheel well..they will be where those holes are.... varies between plastic push crap, phillips #2, or 7mm socket. all of them, not just those pictured.
remove these two bolts here...10mm
now remove these ones, 10mm
you can take off the headlight for 'easier' access to the inner bolts...otherwise go through the wheel well...13mm
this is inside the headlight area...here you can see two bolts sticking out towards the left (hardly..bad pic)...these will have nuts that are 10mm
and another PITA...(this is also inside the fender....holding this bracket down to the fender will be a bolt, 10mm
and lastly, the two inside the door hinge area...7mm
this doesn't really need to be done in the same order. putting it on, put one of the 10mm back in loosely by the hood bracket, then get all the inner stuff done, then the rest, then the wheel well liner or whatever. careful not to bend anything!
and so much for getting the pics the same size.

Wow, thanks to all of you, and all the pics! SUCH a help!
Just a little tip, pull the plastic liner all the way out, then take out the secondary splash shield to the rear of the fender(3 tree retainers), loosen the 7mm screw in the middle behind the shield, then open the door and loosen the 7mm at the top of the fender from in the hinge area. these holes are slotted in the fender so you only have to loosen them.
I wouldnt remove the screws as shown between the door and fender above.
the industry name for the push in things are tree retainers , sounds kind of funny. When I get them from my distributor I ask for GM christmas trees. they do come in long and short, you can use either ones. I know Lowes carries them , Maybe home depot too.
Dont bother saving the trees, you will bend up the fender before you get them out. If you want to try it the best tool to use is a pair of side cuts. I have a pair of what I call nippers that I use often too. If you hold them pointing away from you the cutting edge goes from left to right , where as the side cuts go from you to away from you.
any way thats my 2 cents, good luck.

i hate tree retainers.
just to clarify - what Jo Mx... is talking about is the part to the left of the screw holes in my last pic, inside the fender, i hate those tree retainers so i've never done it that way. i usually just use a 1/4 flex-drive on those two. thanks Jo.

That sucked..It took about 4 hours, every bolt was rusted on, and fought me the entire way..BUT the old dented one is on, and the new although diff colored one is on!
Thanks so so so much to you guys...I would have never got it done without the pics and words, so again, much appriciated
