well i havn't actually bugun to run wires yet, but i thought of a complication that may arise....
the engine is going into a 95 cav so it has the obd1.5 bull@!#$. (obd2 port but wont work with obd2 scanners) should that create a problem when installing the obd2 ecu from the 3400? so is the obd port bart of the engine harnesse or part of the chassis? if it helps andser any question i planned on piggybacking the stock ecu for the gauges. (unless HPT can fix that, but havn't figured out how that would work)
thanks ryan thompson
Ryan, I put my obd port for the donor engine by the air filter under the hood, it was close to the pcm, which i had put on the driver frame rail- similar to the pass side stock pcm. thebondoman
I wanted to keep both the donor and vehicle pcms seperate-- it would be easier the locate any problems.
by doing so, I had to add another temp sensor in the transfer tube- for the j-pcm, and wire the a/c request and pressure sensor to my donor pcm, relocated control wires for the fans etc--jb
PS-- get a GM service manual or a complete wiring diagram of both the car and donor-big help!!
i got the GM Service Information DVD everything from 98-05 some older but some info isn't there
