Question, has anyone ever had their drivers seat or passenger seat wear out in their cavy because it sometimes feels like when i'm driving my drivers seat goes back a little further than it should not quite into the back seat but close lol.
Never have, but i've also only had my cavi for a week lol. If your looking for new seats, I have a set of the rally sport cavi seats for sale.

Lil rios a bracket got bent, very interesting i thought maybe there was an adjustment knob or switch on the side of the seat that you could tighten.
I get a little clunk from my seat once in a while, also some of the metal in the seat likes to poke me through the fabric. I just think of it as more motivation to get new seats.
are they expensive can you get them from a dealer, since i am not one for installing stuff etc myself could probably get some from the junkyard but then would end up with crappy seats.
you wanna buy new seats from a dealer your crazy jus tgo to the junk yard sit in the car before you buy them
put it this way the bigger the item the more they rape you cause of storage space
impala exhaust the place that made them sold them to GM for 63CDN for a single exhaust then if you had to buy it from a dealer it was 600CDN and you wanna buy seats
HAHAHA buy a new car
4 bolts a seat you can have them out in like 10 minutes
JBO since July 30, 2001
you wanna buy new seats from a dealer, yes i guess i am crazy i want brand new quality seats installed right i go to a junkyard and get some seats the only thing i will get are cheaper priced seats that probably won't last half as long .

If you're gonna spend that much money, at least upgrade to better seats than the stockers.
why upgrade the cars gonna be worth $0 come trade in time anyway why upgrade and customize and do a ton of work, the cars just a daily driver for me just point a to point b.
besides that if you want better seats than the stock ones, where would i get them anyway a junkyard wouldn't have them no one near me has any, plus i don't work on my own car anyway which means i would have to find someone that knew how to do it for next to nothing also i kind of like my graphite seats anyway so.
So you can't buy a ratchet and socket set from Sears and easily install the seats yourself? The car's going to be worth the same whether you spend $500 or so on brand new factory seats or $100 on perfectly good junkyard ones.
I guess if you have that much money to flush down the toilet, go ahead since you already know what you want to do. I'll just recline in my junkyard Celica seats and laugh at my stockers over in the corner.
Yo John, to each his own i suppose i'm not sure about the ratchet set from sears, i could probably go that route but for me it's a judgment call i'm not exactly what i would call versed in that kind of thing. If i don't think i can do something without screwing the whole car up i just pay the extra money and leave it to the professionals some things if it looks easy enough i might be tempted to try it, rarely do i just jump in assume i can do it right without sizing the situation up. From what your saying it sounds like you just undo the bolts and the seat just lifts right up and out of the car. I'm very leary about buying anything from the junkyard i'm one of those odd people i guess i tend to spare no expense when it comes to my car don't use aftermarket parts etc always take it to the dealer for it's required maintenance etc. Everybody is different.
Really, seats are that easy. Take out the bolts, pull them out, drop in the new seats, bolt them in. I see where your coming from, having not done much work on cars and all, but seats are truely easy to put in IMO. To me, ALOT more worth it to get seats from a junkyard and put them in myself, than pretty much end up paying a dealership $400 just to put seats in.

Could always go all out with a ompressor and air ratchet
I understand where you're coming from. If my dad had not showed me how to do things like changing oil, welding, etc. I would be leary too. It's always good to go for quality but there's also cost effectiveness. Of course, seats out of a '95 are much more likely to be worn out, faded, etc. than an '05. Same thing with my Celica seats, I got them out of an '04 so they're not even five years old and perfectly fine.
The best thing about junkyard seats is you can sit in them and decide for yourself if they're good or not. Don't be afraid to try new things but what you're doing is cool too
got my seats for 19.73 from the junkyard and its only 4 bolts and a wire connection
After 2 years of putting a extra tire/wheel behind the driver seat I finally got a new one. I had the same problem you did...I got an almost brand new seat from the junkyard for 85 bucks....
$85 sounds like you got a heck of a deal i'm beginning to think it's pretty common for our seats to wear out, dissapointing thing though the cars only 4 yrs old, i've had it since august of 05 so 3 yrs last month and already the seat goes back further than it should. I don't know it's like maybe they were done from the factory it's as if they're not designed to hold up very long, i know someone mentioned on here in an earlier post about having a problem similar to mine and it ended up being a bent bracket or some such thing. I was looking at it earlier today and all i saw was this what appeared to be really cheap plastic piece on the side of the seat that actually makes the seat go down and up only problem with mine, as stated is once i get it to the right position it doesn't stay there it slips back further as if it was going down if that makes any sense.
