i want to know of the 2.4 ecotec will fit in a 2005 cavalier. if so wht do i need to do
You need a standalone engine management system. The factory ECU's cannot work with the reluctor ring on the 2.4.
If you have to ask then you do not have the knowledge to pull it off. There are a million threads about this topic already, SEARCH!!!!!!
Anyhow, to be nicer, look for posts from myself next summer.

But then you have to rewire the car for everything to work right. And a stand a lone will also allow for better tuning than the factory PCM.

oh way to go, slam someone by telling them if they have to ask they don't have the knowledge to pull it off so typical of some people on here. Yeah you apologized in a sense but it was after the fact, even if there was a million searches done on this you still could have told him that in a much more polite way than to insult him and tell him he doesn't have the knowledge good grief.

no actually i don't, you could have said something to the effect of telling him what he needs, or what you believe he needs and then say something like if you need more information you can also search the archives. And if you still do not find what your looking for feel free to im me or post on here and i or someone else will try and help you however we can.

brad i am not the forum police nor did i ever state that i was, if you had half a brain you would note that before you made the post. Yes it does get frustrating true, but there are other ways of dealing with that than slamming someone imo as for telling someone unless your going to add some help towards the thread don't bother, there you go again making my whole point yes you said please but that's almost like saying newbies not welcome. Even if it's your first day on the org, you should find the search button quickly and easily. It's common sense to search the forums on a topic before posting a thread about it. I don't make many topics because I search and 99% of the time I find the answer I was looking for. Plus, you've got to go
