Is there a way that you can check if an odometre has been turned back on a fire with a non-digital odometre?
Reason i ask is im lookin onto buying a 97 fire gt that has 93k (kilometres) on it and it looks like its in good condition runs good but kinda loses power after you shift kinda like it has alot more mileage on it than the odo says, although it accelerates fine and seems to have no issues until right after you shift.
To describe the power loss better i would say its like somtthing is holding the car back, kinda like its towing something.
It could be that the clutch extender (the clutch had a inch long block with a plate on it) could of been throughing my shifting off, but im not sure.
Could the power loss also be a sign of a bad clutch?
Another odd thing about the car is it has a black headliner with matching visors, is that a stock option or something you hacv to order aftermarket?
Normally i would just dismiss a car that old with such low km's for under 4k but it comes with a 2 year powertrain warrenty.
Thanks in advance for any input.

My 97 has a black headliner as well. Stock.
As for the odo question.... well.... This is a time where I will plead the fifth. I'm just going to say its not as difficult as you would think.
Theoretically if you try to roll back the odometer it'll show blue lines through the numbers or soemthing whenever it gets tampered with.
HOWEVER, it is possible to just buy an entire gauge cluster from a junk yard with lower mileage and swap it in. Noone would ever know. Carfax and Autocheck would hopefully show you mileage at different registrations. To show if it's rolled back or messed with from there.
If you had a bad clutch it would slip. The car wouldn't speed up very well, and your engine would start to rev faster.
Watch this vid. He leaves the car in 5th gear and simply floors it. When you do this, the RPM would stay pretty much steady and climb slowly as the car speeds up.
