Yes you do, the Getrag is a completely different transmission than the isuzu and has different mounting points and brackets.

Definitely do need the new rear bracket, and have to mod the front bracket to work. I just did the same swap on my 98 Z24... to a 03 Ecotec... 5 speed Isuzu trans (in the 98) to a 5 speed Getrag trans (from the 03).

Cut, weld, paint... then bolt-in.

If you're putting an auto trans in, sure. There are essentially three different transmission mounting options:

1. 95-99 5 speed: Isuzu brackets (one front, one rear, about 15 inches apart)
2. 00-05 5 speed: Getrag brackets (one front, one rear, about 20 inches apart)

or

3. Automatic (all years): single bracket in the middle of the frame rail

So you need to weld in the appropriate bracket(s) for whatever transmission you're using.

is this all i need or is there a separate rear one?

That is the front one, GM does not sell it. GM only sells the rear one...

how does that front one get modified. i can basicly cut them both off and where it lines up i weld them back on? will there be a hole where i cut them out that needs to get covered. i prob wont order them because i cant wait for any more parts...the back one can be cut and reused in the new spot too right? will the bracket fit on the tran mount or does it need to be widened or anything first?

Ok I have the mount closer to the back ready to weld on. What needs to b modded on the front one? Does it need to b moved or just the holes in it widened
