Hey, I drive a 97 Z24 and have just started having problems with what i beleive is my transmission. I know this is a bad way to describe the noise but only thing i can think of to describe the sound. It is making a noise like the noise that standards make in reverse, but in every gear and three times as loud. Hope someone can help. Thanks.
P.S. My car is manual

well i have a simalar prob with my 2.2 5spd i think its a bearing i was racing and missed 3rd at the track and slipped it into
1st pissed about that o well good think i have another one. Mine has like a humming sound to it only when your on the
throttle in gear

1) How much oil is in it
2) Is there a hole in the case?

Sounds like a blown tranny to me.

I had the same issue with mine, I changed the fluid out and I haven't had any issues since.

Im having the same issue. We changed the clutch and started the car when the tranny was low on fluid and it sounded and test drove great. Then we put in the correct amount of fluid and now some crazy sound is comin from the tranny kinda like the one the OP described.
