Hello everyone,
The original tires on my 2002 Cavalier, I think they are 195/70/14, are terrible handling tires. Any sudden movement of the steering wheel will cause the car to feel unstable, especially while turning. I am wondering if I upgrade to a larger size tire would I get improved handling or is this a common characteristic of all j bodies?
I have seen 2003 Cavaliers with 15 inch wheel and tires and Z24's with 16" tires. Any ideas or suggestions?

A wider tire with a skinner sidewall will increase handling. So either get yourself a set of factory 16"s for but a set of 17" rims and put a 205, 215, or even a 225 tire on them.
i'm running a 205/50/15 on mine its a little short but the car beside the body roll handles well when i lower it and do some
suspension mods i well handle alot better
I'm running Toyo Proxies 4 and there good for all weather and the track love them to bad i need new ones
fatter and lower sidewall is the way to go.....also as mentioned lowering helps a good bit too. Also look into other suspension mods like sway bars, etc.
