So im finally cutting some pipe and doing some welding to make some sort of rough manifold for my car. The major problem that im running into is that the downpipe for the turbo is going to be blasting my ABS unit... Does anyone know if our master cylinders can be swapped with an older J without ABS? If I could somehow bypass that ginormous unit ill have plenty of room for the downpipe to exit. Theres just not enough room!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhh!!!
My idea was to take the unit out and run some new brake lines from the master cylinder to the 4 lines that come out of the ABS unit. It shouldnt be that hard to do ill just need 2 Ts to go from the 2 ports on the master cylinder to the 4 lines that will be there once the ABS unit is out.

03 plus master without ABS is how Im getting by this problem. The bracket is HUGE but I am going to cut it up and make it alot smaller and compact.
there is a thread in suspension and brake.....maybe performance section about removing ABS that has all the info you need.
I really didnt find to much. I did a search for removing ABS. Any help would be great in pointing me to the right thread.

Talk to DaFlyinSqwirl. On his swap I believe he's using a smaller i think even non-power brake cylinder.
Nate maybe you could use a newer abs unit, When I put the v6 in mine I relocated the abs part of it on the frame rail under the battery. on mine they are 2 seperate units, the master and abs unit, I just lengthened the lines that feed the abs unit. Not too sure if the abs willl work though since the newer one is class 2 serial.

Just cut a hole in your hood and have the turbo and piping stick out.
