Ok I searched but never got the results i need. Can sombody tell me the differences in a 1995 2.2 and an 2002 2.2. Is the block and heads still all the same? I know they have some different sensors. If you can fill me in please do! thanks

The following all occur at the begining of the '98 model-year:

Mating surface for the head (To the block) up: Completely different (Including head-gasket).

Pistons: Different (Smaller dish, matched to larger chamber in head).

Cam (Profile): Different.

Crankshaft trigger-wheel clocking: Different (Advanced).

ECM: Different (OBD-II vs. OBD-1.5, Cam Position Sensor introduced in '96).

Go beyond the "bolt-on".

ok thanks! I was wanting to build the bottom end of the 95 motor then switch the top over so i wouldn't have to leave the motor out of the 02 for so long
