Ok I want to swap my 2.4 out of my 00 z24 to a ecotec 2.2 and I've searched and cant find info. I've been told its almost a direct bolt in. Can some please direct me to a thread or tell me what all im going to need. Like harness, ecu, bcm, tranny. what off the 2000 2.4 will work on the 2.2 ecotec.
You'll need the engine, transmission, PCM and engine wiring harness for sure... and the rad too. Assuming you're sticking with a 5 speed, you can keep your existing shifter and transmission mounts... no need to weld in different ones as the 95-99 people do (when switching to a 00+ 5 speed transmission). But you do need the Ecotec transmission as the bellhousing is different than the bellhousing for the 2.4L.
