hey guys i own a 96 snnfire 2.2 and here latley i been having some problems with it . i am having a problem with the gas issue , i go and put it more then half way and leaks it out, been thinking that the gas take is rusting out. also got a few problem when starting it also ... when i leave the car alone overnight and go out to start it ,, it works fine but when i turns the car off for about 10-half hour and goes to start it ..welll she starts but its a bit fussey .. like the car gets a bit spuddery for a few minutes then fine again. also every now and then the service light comes on for a week then might go off for 5or 6 days or more.

does anyone know what my problems car?? or did anyone go tro this before?

please help.

96, sounds like the seam around the gas tank has a rust hole where its welded together, half way up the tank. As for your other problem you first need to find out what the code is, possible coolant temp sensor shorted or corroded terminal causing a bad resistance reading, you really need to get the codes before you go changing anything though.

well i checked my gas tank and founf out that it got a lil rust hole in it .. my other problem a guy told me its my evap valve that is stuck closed. i gotta shake it or something so ya free up the dirt in the valve. if that dont work then i will start replacing my gas cap, coolent temp sencer. someone also told me that it was my charcol canaster.

picked up a new tank there last week.

as for the other problems , you need to find out what the codes are. So people are telling you whats wrong with out the codes, thats like playing darts in the dark. I wouldnt recomment buying a coolant sensor till you confirm that is the code. Many parts stores dont let you return electrical parts so If you buy it you own it.
Do yourself a favor and get some penetrating oil on those gas tank strap bolts asap, keep soaking them for a couple of days before you attempt to remove them. I use BP Blaster but you may have something else that will work also.

alright .. i will check for a code whenever the light comes on again. yeah i gotta get under the car one day and look around and see if theres any loose wires comming from the evap valve to the fuel pump. then spray penertating oil on them strap bolts . i got a bunch of penetrating oils out in the garage.. i start useing rust check lol.

when i gets the code i will post it here .

You dont have to wait for it to come on again, unless you took it somewhere to have the code erased then its still stored in there.
