try craigslist, doesnt have to be a shell, could try for one with a fragged motor or something of the like. look for "Mechanic special"
Unless you have an 00+ engine and trans, I wouldnt look for an 01 body unless you want to switch over every wire and component it attaches to from your pre 00 to the 00+ shell. Where do you draw the line? If you need a whole body on a pre 00, then it sounds like you need a whole car not just the shell.

Good luck oin the search i just found one for myself. i even got the ecotec and the 5 speed with it for 600 bucks but the ecotec was blown but thats ok the other car also has ecotec.
so i got a 04 shell thats immaculate for 600 bucks just no suspension or front end sheet metal. and its fully power optioned just no sunroof.

i know of a cavy shell that had a CF roof and a fresh paint job that went to the junk yard shortly before your post if you were a week sooner you could have had yourself a sweet lookin shell if you were close enough

the owner actually has a 01 z so jo they have no problem putting and 01 2.4 in an 01 z body. i do have an 01 z chassis. needs the engine harness, motor, struts(ruined), and right fender. also i have a 5 speed tranny to go with it. for 900. its located in ohio. i find everything and fix the exterior for xtra cash.
OP- need to know where your located and maybe try the regional section your in.
