after having a few people ask what i did i thought i would post up the pics
i used the stock cluster gutted everything and drilled the holes for 4 2 1/16th gauges and 2 3 3/8 guages. i'm changing what this looks like over the winter to make it look stock and add a couple light so i know when my fan override is on and when my high beams are on
but this is what it looks like before wont have afters for a few months

Thats pretty nice. Makes me feel alittle better about a "future endevor".
they fit pretty nicely. Only one question, does your fuel gauge work? Looks like all autometer gauges, I tried to find an autometer gauge that would work with my sending unit and they said that they didnt make one . The only other explanation would be that yours is a pre 00 cav which may mean that you use a different sender than me.

right now it kinda does its an autometer 0-90 guage it will work for all 98 and older senders. in every class of autometer they have a programable guage i thought about buying that but the price difference was 49 for this or 149 for the other and since i have 380 000km on my fuel pump its getting pulled and replaced anyways
i have a 96 sender sitting on my workbench getting a blazer pump and a brand new tank. when my tank is empty i have 1/2 tank, since my sender is a 40-250.
i thought about doin just the guages i needed but opted for this since it looks cleaner and not have gauges all over the car

oh yeah not sure if the older sender mount ring is the same as a 2k+ if not you can order a 99 steel tank the sender will fit then slide it up under 95-98 tanks have different filler neck location but the 99 is the same as a 00+

Niiiice, how does the odometer work did you have to get that reprogrammed to match the original mileage on your car, or did you program it yourself.
i have 7000 km on my odometer and 386000km on the car i keep track of it i call autometer about it but they don't get involved in that since some people may roll it back

that sucks, so you just have to continue to keep track of it yourself.
lol heres my setup for my 3400, not the nicest setup but it works well. Im not a fan of the A pillar guages so i fit them in there as I could...

Nice Job Nate, i like it you made the odometer freestanding i see. It looks in one pic like you took the cover off it, in the other pic though it looks like it's back on.
your right nate not the nicest setup hahaha but it works. it too bad the stock guages don't work then we wouldn't have to do all this but i guess this is part of what turns most people off the swaps cause then they have to spend a bunch more money on guages
mine would have cost me this
189 speedo
129 tach
49 fuel level
59 boost
49 volt
59 water temp
i bought them all used for 300 except the fuel and boost gauge bought them new, i also got a oil pressure and oil temp guage with the set i bought used

really really like the gauges man looks kick ass!!!! good job on there
I also got all my gauges used all for $50 haha. I recently had to get a new oil pressure sending unit, but that was only like $23 shipped.

NOTa2_4 and Shooff, hummm your crack is showing....
I have an dual A pillar pod with a digital oil psi and fuel level gauge in it but I dont appear to have a pic,
the brushed finish is aluminum flashing from Lowes, I very carefully cut it out and used 3m spray adhesive to stick it to the cluster.

not a bad idea
didn't darren post up a PCM tune that runs the fuel level think it was impala or malibu, think they used it for colins 2000
just gotta go to a friend and get my 00+ cluster and radio bezel do the work on that then swap my cracked 99 dash to an uncracked 00+

looks good

BTW: This is my Sig.
If you have a 2000+ Cav, the 2000 Impala PCM will work all the gauges. If your car is a pre 2k and you wanna do this, you will have to rewire the complete car for 2000+. Thats what I am in the middle of doing for a 97 3400 swap.
there you go JO MX you could swap over to an impala PCM and have your factory fuel gauge work for you, i thought i remembered darren saying something about this

He cant because his is auto. Aparantly the Impala PCM doesnt agree with the grand am tranny he has in his.
Yeah , gtpsunfire hit the nail on the head.
Actually, I'm the one that figured out the Impala Flash, well me and a tech at a local dealer did. Impala comes with the 4t65e, and the 4t45e doesnt shift the same, It actually slips severely if you flash a 4t45e pcm with the 4t65e flash. Gas guage works but you'll burn up the clutches in the tranny before you see the needle on the gauge move.
The Impala flash is only useful for someone that can get an aftermarket auto trans delete for an 00+ swap.
The other possibility was a 00+ malibu 3100 swap with the 4t45e into a 00+ cav. A good chance the gas guage will function properly on this also but I have no proof.

damn could have swapped trannys and made custom axels but guess thats why more work
