ok where the header meets the down pipe mine has 3 bolts to connect them but ive been looking for the whole exhaust everyone i have found it has 2 or 4 bolts to connect them? why is mine differant?please help asap

all of the J-bodies I've worked with only had the 3 bolt.


are you meaning stock replacement or aftermarket?

96-98 2.4 had 4 bolt none had 2 excpet the 2.2L
96-98 what a 4 bolt flange
99-02 was a 3 bolt flange

you must not be talking about the same flange then your probably talking where the down pipe meets the cat, cause the exhaut systems don't go up to the manifold they stay down low there should be a 3 bolt triangle flange before the cat where you would disconnect some GMs have 2 bolt but i think thats a W body

ahhh your right thanks. i got the car running now with the exhaust hooked up but it sounds like its knocking my brother said i had an extra knock sensor he didnt know where it went...can anyone help me one last time .thank you

Extra knock sensor? Where are the wires coming out of the harness and what are colors on the two plugs. I believe the real knock sensor wire is dark blue, single wire with a pinch to release style plug. i dont have the diagram in front of me but im thinking thats the right color. There should be an extra plug near where the Ignition module and oil sending unit are, I dont remember if I looks like a knock sensor, but I remember there is always an extra on there.

you mean an extra 02 sensors, you shouldn't have touched your knock sensor (is only 1 on a 2.2, 2200, 2.4, 2.2eco)
