W-41 mods for v6 swap?

In the sticky , Dan Bettis brought up some somewhat convincing info on using this w-41 in the v-6 swap. Now I dont know much about the ones that you guys are using but is there anyone that had done this. I didnt want to ask this in the sticky.

What I am saying is if you want the better W-41 gearing, 3.94 final drive, 3.50 first, 2.05 second, 1.38, third, 1.03 forth, and .81 fifth gear. I belive that most gearboxs have much higher 4th and 5h gears in the range of .92 and .74 or some where in that range.

You split the case of the transmision, and swap out the v6 half (bellhousing) in place of the Quad4 half.

Yes this can be done, I did it, and it was in my 92. We did have to remove on spacer part from on the the shift rails and check the bearing crush. Other than that it was very straight forward.

Just one more way to go a little bit faster.

Some not so good pics.

I wish the F40 gears were better, and the thing didn't weigh a ton. I was really considering swapping one until I got the details of it.

As far as the W41 gears, I think they'll work quite well. I'm planning on doing the hybrid Isuzu build that will be similar. The thing about that FDR, though, is that you'll need to open up the top end of the V6 a little to get some more in the upper RPM's. Remember, the V6's are designed for more torque than the I4's. So if you're building a V6, the steep gears will be good, but if you're swapping in a stock V6, you probably won't be happy with them.

I know many people are aware of these things, but it's always a good idea to throw it out there in case someone reading doesn't.
