no one seems to have a AC bypass pulley for a 3400 mines a 03'
anybody got one for sell?
not many using that new of a motor. It may be possible that it is using the more compact compressor which may use a different bracket. if you havent found one yet , get the older one and swap out the actual ac bracket too.

i belive there is a way to add another idler pulley and change belt routing a little to eliminate the need for a bypass. i asked about a 3500 bypass on 60degreev6.com and thats wat they told me and the newer 3500 and the 3400 should share the same or close timing cover.

That's how I have mine run. If your motor came from a Grand Am, it should already have the necessary pulley to bypass without using an A/C bypass. I just wish I still had a pic of it around here.
SHOoff if u could dig up a pic that would be awsome cuz im gonna need to do the same thing and did u use the stock belt?
ill need a picture, i had a custom water pump pulley made, a half inch alum ribbon, just bigger and had one tensioner

Not real sure on teh belt side. I know guys with a UDP were running something like a 59.5" belt. Since I have a stock crank pulley mine's a bit longer. Not sure how much though. Maybe 60.5?

Looks awful close to the tensioner and the water pump doesnt have much contact, looks like a belt eater.

It uses one of the grooved pulleys that you remove to swap the belt pattern over to the 3100
The bypass pulley I linked replaces the AC pump so you can use the stock belt.

Works fine for me. I've only destroyed one belt, but that's after it got soaked in a lot of PS fluid a long time ago. Haven't had a problem since. I was a bit worried about the WP not having much contact, but it still seems to cool fine.

Because not having the bypass pulley makes you continuously think of what you could possibly put in that open space and drive off of the belt.
i got it in today but the bottom bolt wont work, the two up top will but the bolt hole on the oil pan sticks out to much, i gues ill just use the two top bolts and cut the third mounting hole off.
Bad idea... that's a good way to snap that pulley bracket. Its just pot metal, so all 3 bolts must be used.
If the bolt sticks out too far, either grind down the boss, grind some off the bracket, or get a shorter bolt.
^^before it was tightened down fully... I had to hand start the bolts then finish up with a wrench,
