i have a 2000 cavalier with a 2200 engine. the starter and fuel pump went out of it recently and i need to know what year cavaliers that i can use a starter and fuel pump off of. all help is really appreciated!!!
You can use just about any 2.2/2200/3100/3400 starter. They're all the same.
However, using a 3400 starter (of any year) or an 01+ 2200 starter would be a good idea, since they're gear reduction. Thus a bit more powerful, more efficient.

all have beeen swapped to the gear reduction style. even the 95-97 version. if it's not hte upgraded gear reduction style, then you got a really old one, or a re-built guy.
oh, there is a tiny difference in mounting from the 95-97-98+ 2.2/2200.
the starter is the oringinal from the factory, i really havent done that much work with under the hood.
