The idea of anyone doing a V6 swap was unheard of .... in fact most of the people said it could not be done . A small group of us did not see why it would not work , after 2 1/2 years of being off the site I come back to see a bunch of cars that have swaps done ..... And this year I am going to be working on mine and getting it on the road as well .... Thats right I had stopped wrking on it for quite sometime . But back in the game now and still have all my stuff and new tools ... later this year maybe a new shop to work ut of as well .
Anyway in the beginning the first real running V6 swap that ran was Raven and shortly after I got mine in . Then you had Quick Lilcav and others , Today I see a lot of post about V6 swaps that are up and running and from what I have read and seen people are very happy with them . Well hope to join the crowd later this year when mine finally hits the road

V6's people on here have steped up their game. theur are j's with northstars and 3800's with huge turbos. These people are nuts now. It's great aint it.
There are a ton of intelligent people on the .org, and if it wasn't for the "why not?" questions, things like this wouldn't be possible.
i think the v6 is a great thing as for mine i wasnt impressed but it was a series 1 3800 with a 3 speed auto cant ask for much but my new one will be done in a year or so im hoping its atleast a 14 second car with a stock motor
my kill list:a geo metro and a mac semi wow did i kill that thing
love mine the only way i'm parting with it is if the wife says i can get a 2010 Camero SS so far its a NO so it wont be goin anywhere

I'm hoping to have mine on the road this summer, too. I have a lot of work to do, but I'm in a better position to get it finished now. Like you, my car had been set aside many times. I've briefly driven the car with the V6, but with a sh!t clutch, I can't say it was very impressive.
Definitely post up some progress info.
I knew that Roberts car wasn't running and that long ago when he did the swap that he had some issues with keeping it running, then just kinda disappeared. I always thought your car was running though Shawn. I got a lot of information from the both of you. Actually, the lower mount I have is one that I copied from Roberts post and have kept around here for some time, and shared with many others.
But, I guess if I look back at it... as far as 60 degree v6's go. Looks like i'm the first one with theirs running reliably enough to be run on a daily basis. That's kinda cool.
And of course, the mods and improvements will never end though. Always looking forward to new stuff.

The first V6 swap was the red cavy in Canada with the 3800SC. That was way back!!!! many years.
FU Tuning
i could see why he swapped it the gearing is nuts on the the getrag 1st gear is compltetely useless 2nd is borderline, if i can find a F40 i will be trying that out for mine i also wanna see if i can use the F23 but change to different gears

thats why i was originally going to use a getrag 282 because it was a v6 trans and the gearing was a little better
