running way lean

So I finally wired in a AFR gauge.. on the stock heated o2 sensor.. now I read that you can't really go by the stock o2 sensor but my car runs lean as @!#$. At idle it is a little lean. cruising results in VERY VERY LEAN. and WOT indicates rich.. My tranny isnt wired to the ecm like its supposed to be.. could my ECU not seeing im in gear cause my lean condition because the motor doesnt know im moving down the road and trying to hold the idle down?

Nobody knows is the ECU not knowing im in gear will try to hold the idle down and thus causing a lean condition?

Regular air/fuel gauges wired to the stock sensors will appear to be way lean & way rich... that's exactly why you don't want to use the stock O2 sensors. All they do is sweep back and forth, totally useless.

Your car is probably just fine. Do you get pinging, knocking or bogging? Rich deposits (ie. black smoke, carbon build up on your bumper, etc) that are visible? Or does the car drive alright?

its acts like it is running out of gas if im cruising. idle or WOT runs fine..

Get a wideband o2 and start from there.
