hey i have a 98 cavy with a 2.4L and i also have a 98 pontiac trans sport(mini van) with a 3400 sfi in it with front mounts for the motor. Will i be able to swap the 3400 motor and trans in to my 98 cavy?
it will bolt in I THINK if you get the 94-95 grand am motor mount. The one thats over by the coolant tank. I swapped the 3100 and found you can put the 2.2 tranny mount with the 3100 tranny mount to make it 100% bolt in. besides the lower mount which again i dont know if your 3400 in the van has the lower mount. I have heard if you use the front motor mounts it can bend the rad support if you dont reinforce it.
have you read though the 3x00 swap sticky at the top of the third gen forum? it has a lot of good info.

most all 3*00 motor mounts will bolt to all 3*00 motors i belive atleast all the ones that bolt to the timing covers.

i read thro it but couldn't find my excat question and i ddin't want to just wing it I'd rather sound stupid and just ask the question then do the job and fail at it...
further news I've decided just to go with another 2.4L and see how thats goes....found out my van motor had a blown head not head gasket.
well whats up with the 3400? I would love to upgrade from my 3100
