I thought I had the only v6 swapped cavy around me, I blew up a cv axle and went to the junkyard to get another one, but they didnt have n e 3100 grandams. So im looking around and I find a 2nd gen cavalier. and sure enough it had the same damn tranny, and engine I pulled from the grand am and dropped in my car.. It was cool..

enjoy my "pointless" story.

It wasn't the original 3.1. It was a 3100 and a 4t60e tranny.

The 3x00 is a very common swap in 2nd gens. Even though they are different, they are not different enough that they don't just bolt right in where the 3.1 was. My point was it's extremely common to see a V6 in a 2nd gen. Also, on that subject, this isn't even in the right forum.

The point was, I thought I was the only v6 swapped cavy around me, I found out i wasn't.. this forum is dumb, eveybody doesnt come here to chat, and help, they come here to see what new has been posted and rag on it..

Meh, take it for what it is. I was merely pointing out what seemed to be a misconception. No need for getting your panties in a bunch over it.

As for everybody just coming here to rag, you haven't read enough if you have that idea. There are tons of threads with people offering helpful information. Hell, I wrote a sticky in this very section on the subject of V6 swaps. I certainly did not write this because I wanted people to post so that I could rag on them.

I agree, there is a lot of helpful information here, and I read LOTS of it before I even touched one bolt on my car. but it just seems lately that there really isnt that much new stuff to post, and when someone post some info thats already out there, people take it upon themselves to whip out the good ole e-penis.

the point is that they came with v6's, so its not really a difficult "swap", more of a replacement i would say.

my brother "swapped" his 3.1 for a 3100 in his old lumina. I realize its not a cav, but the fact is that the 2nd gens were set up to accept a v6.

the point really was cavaliers get nothing around here.. nobody ever does anything with them, and to find a second v6 swapped cavy, mine being the first around here, i got excited, that was all.
